7 Reasons to Read the Word in 2022

#1 I need to be FED.

They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the honeycomb. Psalm 19:10

#2 I need PROTECTION.

Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Eph 6:17

#3 I need to GROW.

But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be glory both now and forever! Amen. 2 Peter 3:18

#4 I show my HEART when I read the Word.

As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for You, my God. Psalm 42:1

#5 I need MORE of God in my life.

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16-17

#6 We need each other to GROW.

They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.

Acts 2:42

#7 We need to have GOSPEL-CENTERED conversations.

All the believers were together and had everything in common. Acts 2:44

Good, Good Father

Good, Good Father

The Bible describes God as a Good, Good Father
WRONG IDEAS ABOUT GOD, THE FATHER

  • Passive GRANDFATHER
  • Cosmic COP
  • Universal KILLJOY
  • Angry BOSS
  • Impersonal FORCE

Thankfully our Good, Good Father:
Is Full of Grace

Is Perfectly Just

Sets boundaries for those He loves

Is Pleased with His children

And Desires to be intimately involved in His children’s lives.

He is truly a Good, Good Father!

Alive Again – Great!

1 Corinthians 15:50-58

#1.  GREAT TRANSFORMATION vv.50-53

For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage one another with these words.               1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 (NIV)

#2.  GREAT VICTORY vv.54-56

He will swallow up death forever! The Sovereign Lord will wipe away all tears. He will remove forever all insults and mockery against His land and people. The Lord has spoken!                         Isaiah 25:8 (NLB)

#3.  GREAT THANKSGIVING v.57

I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase. Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.                       1 Corinthians 3:6-8 (KJV)

  • Look _________________
  • Look _________________

#3.  ONE IMAGE

Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. 1 John 3:2 (NIV)

Moved by the sound of His voice
Seas that are shaken and stirred
Can be calmed and broken for my regard
